   Type Writer

In 1868 the typewriter was invented and had a very big impact on modern-day America and has still had a very long-lasting impact. Many people agreed that this would make written documents easier and faster than standard handwriting.

The way the printing was done is through an inked ribbon. which is fitted on spools, travels with the operation of the machine, and reverses automatically when one spool becomes completely unwound. This a foolproof way of printing without getting jammed up and keeping it clean with ink. In many other machines, an inking pad is used, the type contacting the pad before printing. This would typically get dried out and need to be cleaned very often making a big mess.

Later on, noiseless typer writers are made and are very big because of the fact that normal writers are very loud and make many sounds. This would help the writer out in very many ways keeping everything quiet and keeping the process on track. They used a linkage in the new type of writing it made the velocity of keys much lower but didn't sacrifice any time while writing. There are a few flaws with this machine the biggest being when typing it made an impression lighter than normal all though this might not be to big of a deal it could make reading certain articles very difficult to read.

Now electric typewriters have been introduced this is the best thing that typewriters have seen. this made typing much less work and easier to press keys in forming articles and could speed up the process with how fast keys would come up and go down. In the internals, it was powered by an electric motor made by Thomas A. Edison in 1872. This was very advanced for this period with how fast you can now type.

Portable typewriters are now introduced and make typing on the go are now very common and used by many people. You no longer need to be stationed in one spot or at a desk it was very common to now see these with the lighter weight they had and easy for people to type as they were talking to someone or reporting a news on site. Once the first one was introduced many companies made this standard for their typewriters and made it a lasting impact.

The last revision to the typewriter was a high-speed printing machine that could type much faster and make it less timely to type. These would speed up the process of everything and make it so that anyone could type at a speedy rate. This increased type speed of up to 100,000 characters per minute has been attained, as compared with about 1,000 characters per minute. This was a very big change and made it even easier to type.

I feel that the 8th one "Protect Dissent" is the most important to me and it stands with me for great
reasons. I feel that Americans have been using this for a while and really do rely on it. Many Americans have protested if their rights have been taken and made it loud and clear for everyone to know.

To start this stands very important because it has to do with the freedom of speech many Americans exercise in today's time. This is very important for citizens to share their opinions on something that they like or dislike no matter what it is the government can not tell you to stop sharing your opinion. This also ties into social media, you can post whatever you would like about the government whether it's bad or good and they can't stop you from expressing how you feel and this makes us very different from any other country. If it were somewhere else and you would post trash-talking your leader they would come after you because they don't have rights like America. Media has been supper big the past few years with how people will share things about politics and it really stands out about why it's important to have your rights. The media's role in highlight a check on government actions ensuring transparency and accountability.

This Protect Dissent it is also protects you with Legal Protections this is to help the citizens if they are being put on trial for something. This aspect helps individuals against unjust legal consequences, providing a process they must go through. This aspect makes it show that you can't be arrested for something unless proven guilty and America is built on that.

Americans take a lot of these for granted and sometimes won't act out on it when they could be stripped from them and push them into a lifestyle that isn't the American way that America built there selfs on. The way that certain countries make their citizens live not being able to speak out on what is wrong and good limited them because if they say something against their leader they will be hunted down and possibly killed.

In America I feel that we are the only ones who really have a way to speak out on social media I never see anyone from Russia typing on twitter expressing their feelings about the way they feel about their government. We have the right to express what we think in the news is wrong or right or can be justified. That is why this sticks with me the most because I think its very important to express how you feel about something.

 The Founding Era

I learned that the Supreme Court grants many powers that I didn't think they did. This really surprised me because of how is operated in today's time. This is very important to know that the Supreme Court must vote on something and then it gets passed. I found it very interesting that the Supreme Court never heard about any cases when they first started. It took a whole term for them to get a case to vote on. The article changed my opinions on it because of how the court can be looked at it doesn’t mean much however its very important to have.

NEWS AND INFORMATION

To start off the list is going to be TikTok. There are many news outlets on TikTok and it's very common for new news to be shown here. TikTok will have people react to the news giving individuals opinions on certain topics. They will post clips about upcoming things or things from the past to gain attraction toward a certain topic. There are many users on TikTok and many people enjoy seeing clips of the new articles coming out.

Much like TikTok Instagram has news on there article Instagram. Instagram has a feature to repost things to stories and makes it so that there is also a way for users to post their reactions to the articles.  This has really made the media a big name because of this. On Instagram, you can see all different types of news stories whether it be Sports, Politics, and Wether. Many companies will post on Instagram if they are open or closed for holidays.

Youtube is a great source of news many news stations will go live on YouTube to talk about the news and inform many people about news. Some YouTube channels even will talk about the news and go into detail after researching the topic that they are going to talk about. This has really changed how news can get out to people whether a news station deletes a post on their website someone would have seen it and will talk about it and why it might have been deleted.

The next best way to get a news source is from Twitter this is because of how fast people will post on Twitter gaining instant attention.  This was because Twitter has tabs that will pop up for everyone even if you’re not interested in the topic or not it will still be put up for your account.  This is very good for spreading information because it might catch the attention of someone who really isn’t interested but just looking for something to read.

Google News, This has every news you can find no matter what you are looking for with a simple search it can pull up exactly what you want. This is good for researching or if you're just wondering about a simple topic and would like more information.  The information from Google is very nice if you are looking for an idea or to even see if a sports team won and it will have a breakdown of what went on. I find this very useful in my time looking for more information on something.
